Face behind the brush

First and foremost, I'm a mum to 2 amazing kids.  Along with my husband, Chris, we live a very busy and fulfilling life in northern NSW.  We were lucky enough to build our lovely home 9 years ago. I started painting in a shed out the back, but have now moved into a shared space in the main street in town (Inverell) and love being part of the community. 

I know it sounds corny, but painting makes my heart happy!  I get this giddy excited feeling just thinking about it.  And completing a new piece, or even a section of a new work, gives me all of the warm fuzzies.  

For as long as I can remember I have been drawn to all things creative and aesthetically pleasing.  I have sold my artworks on and off over the past 20 years, and now, after taking a few years off, my passion has been renewed.

Even though I've always had a love for painting, my studies and occupations have been quite different over the years.  Straight out of school I studied Maths at university.  But after not loving that, I changed to Interior Design.  After completing my diploma, I had another change of heart and started working in Financial Planning and I gained my Diploma in Financial Services.  I worked in financial planning up until very recently, when I made the leap of faith to try painting as my full time occupation. 

My father is also an artist so I have grown up admiring his work and having his help and guidance while I find my own style.  

I used to call myself an abstract artist, but through commissions I have found my way into detailed realistic pieces and I'm absolutely loving the process.  

So who knows what the next chapter will bring...  All I know is that I'm ready!
